Snow!

It is snowing here in Atlanta! This is our street - 3 inches in 1 hour. I have to say it is really pretty. After living without snowy winters for 14 years, I truly forgot how pretty the first snow fall can be. The boys will be PUMPED in the morning!!! It is supposed to snow until 6am - this is so much FUN!!!

Ellie - 3 months

Happy New Year! Ellie turned 3 months December 24. She is sleeping a whopping 10-12 hours a night and recently started sucking her thumb. She is such a joy, we are so happy she is part of our family. Here is the best picture from her 3 month portrait. I can't wait to get the prints and pepper them throughout the house. Atlanta is gearing up for a BIG ice storm; Fulton County just closed school tomorrow and there's not even a bit of precipitation in the air and the streets are bone dry. WOW - if Raleigh County did this in WV when I was kid, I'm not sure I would have gone to school at all during the winter months. Time to dig up more activities for the boys. Stay warm everyone.

A perfect little Marcille Christmas!

Happy New Year to all! Best wishes to you for a blessed 2011. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday, we certainly did! You can only imagine the anticipation and excitement around our house in December as the countdown to Christmas came, and then went. We were fortunate to spend our first Christmas as a family of five in our own home. The boys participated in several activities at preschool, church, and home, and of course, our visit with Santa! The Elf on the Shelf appeared again on Dec. 1 and Jay and Andrew rushed downstairs each morning to find him in his new spying spot for the day. Best of all, it snowed in Atlanta on Christmas, in all we had about 3 inches on the ground - the first white Christmas here since the 1800's! The boys loved our wintery weather and Jay and I got out to build a very small snow-elf. On New Year's Eve, Scott and I headed out on our own and had dinner with friends before heading to a party. A perfect adult end to our holiday celebration. Again, best wishes to you for a prosperous, healthy, and happy 2011! love, Martha Ahhh... Christmas Eve cocktails for Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Jay and Andrew at their new play table. Thanks PM and PD!

Our family portrait after church on Christmas Eve. We headed to Peachtree Presbyterian for a preschool service at 11am. The boys loved hearing the Christmas story in the sanctuary - Andrew is still walking around announcing, "Jesus is born!" After the 11am preschool service, we checked our children into the nursery and Scott and I went to a lovely communion service at noon.

Scott, Jay, and Andrew walking in the tunnel after church.

Frick and frack...eating cookies. yum!

Jay and I baking chocolate chip cookies for his preschool cookie social.

Holiday crafts! Jay and Andrew painted and decorated the frames at home one day and Scott decorated the gingerbread house with them. Jay insisted on putting the Christmas tree on the roof, as there are several Christmas trees on roofs around Atlanta: Northside Hospital at Perimeter and Alpharetta, and Macy's.

Jay rolling out the dough for our cut-out Christmas Cookies.

Jay and Andrew mailed their Santa letters at Macy's.

Before the mayhem - our presents looked all nice and neat like this for all of 12 hours.

Jay and Andrew set cookies out for Santa and carrots for the reindeer.

Santa was hungry, and so were the reindeer, and look - Santa left his hat. o no!
Twas the night before Christmas...

Christmas morning! Cheese!

The big reveal...

Scott and Andrew belting out some tunes.

Santa came thru with Jay's request for the super cheap remote control fire truck set from Target. (he wouldn't stop talking about it!)

More presents...

This is the big present Santa brought for the boys to share - a power wheel! They love it. Thanks Santa!

The Saints

Here is Jay with his classmates.

Holidays 2010

It's been a busy Christmas season so far! The boys are officially done with school until 2011 - since when is Christmas break 3 WEEKS? jeez... The house is decorated, Jay and Andrew sat on Santa's lap here at our neighborhood breakfast, Ellie and I went to see Jay sing in his Christmas program at school, afterwards Jay and I ate too many goodies at the cookie social. Here are a few pics, will update with more in a few days! Our tree - the boys LOVE looking and playing with all the ornaments.
Jay on stage ready to sing. As the teachers were marching and lining up all the 3 and 4 year olds (four classes total) they were playing "Oh When the Saints Go Marching In." ha ha.

Jay and I making his favorite chocolate chip cookies from scratch for his social.

Andrew visiting with Santa.

And Jay visiting with Santa. He said, "I want a remote control black fire truck." hmmmm.

Scott shot this little video then added the music this weekend. It's a keeper - by far my favorite.

Our little Princess...

I apologize for how long it's been since my last post. Taking care of 3 little ones is a busy, busy job! This update is dedicated to Miss Ellie. She is just shy of 10 weeks. These photos were taken just before her 2 month birthday - on 11/21/10 to be exact. At her 8 week pediatrician appointment she weighed in at 10.2 lbs and is 23 inches long. She is a tall baby! She has Jay's big eyes and last night she slept 9 continuous hours! YEAH!!! We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Our house is already buzzing with Christmas spirit. We trimmed the tree last night and our Elf on the Shelf has returned to keep an eye on our mischievious boys. J and A are very excited about all the Christmas activities and Ellie sleeps through most of the commotion! Warm wishes to all! Here is the nursery transformed into a girly space - having a girl is FUN! These were my curtains growing up. PatsyMom shipped them to me recently now that she is finally painting my old room. My original plan was to cut them up into a different design, but they fit perfectly, so they will hang "as is." I barely have time to take a shower, I'm not sure when I would have time to cut and sew anyway - ha - what was I thinking, really? I think they give the room an instant princess feel - what do you think?
Ellie at 8 weeks - 11/21/10. She looks alot like Jay.

oooooo.....

ahhhhh....

So cute and cuddly (when she's not crying!) xo
