Andrew's Baptism

June 14, 2009 - Andrew Scott was baptized at Peachtree Presbyterian Church here in Atlanta. It was a nice ceremony and we were fortunate to have Aunt Mary, Uncle Nick, PatsyMom, and PapaDoc here to celebrate with us! It is tradition in our church to choose a Bible verse for your child, Scott chose Romans 12:11-13 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Jay was mesmerized by Andrew "getting wet," he still mentions it when he sees the photo memory nestled in our bookshelves.

Florida!

Ahhh.... summer is officially here and it's already HOT in Atlanta! Jay's school ended May 15 and won't start again until the second week in September, that means Jay's summer break is a full 16 weeks, we are in the middle of week 5; I am taking this time to expose the boys to new activities around Atlanta and special trips each month (and to maintain my sanity!).

In early June I took the boys to Florida on a tour to visit extended Gravely relatives. We drove to Jacksonville to see Aunt Mary and Uncle Nick; from there Aunt Mary joined us as we traveled further south to Bradenton to visit our cousins, Debbie, Rich, Charlie, Tommy, and Janice. It was a great trip - Jay had a blast and was completely entertained by a very patient 12 year-old Charlie. Our trip included a visit to Sarasota Gardens, Manatee Beach, a few dips in Debbie's pool, a fun family dinner, and girls' night out (thank you Rich and Charlie for watching the boys!). Debbie and Rich were unbelievable hosts and we can't thank you enough for all that you did for us during our stay! And for all the time the boys had in the car, they were very well behaved, yeah!
